Roses & Rosemary Visits South Africa - December 2008

In December, Roses & Rosemary traveled to South Africa and met with 10 HIV Children and with Cotlands Orginzation. We observed the work of their Home Based Care outreach program in the community which provides services to HIV-affected children in the comfort of their own homes.

Roses & Rosemary has supported this Cotlands program since 2006, and raised $10,000 USD for them in 2008. We vhanded out teddy bears donated by generous sponsors as part of our Traveling Teddy Bears for Orphans program. Thank you to all who participated!

A Look Back: 2008

Thank you for your support!

2008 was a great year for Roses & Rosemary. We expanded support in Africa and far exceeded our fundraising goals and records. Thank you to everyone.

We raised an astonishing $50,000 and kept our administrative costs below 4%. This will go a long way in helping HIV orphans in Africa. We continue to focus on HIV orphans in southern Africa by using our virtual, grassroots fundraising approach.

In December, board members visited 10 homes with HIV children in South Africa. They conducted an audit of the operations and have some amazing stories to share. Many of the homes were granny-headed households or children living with relatives due to the impact of HIV on the family unit.

One of our volunteers also visited Zimbabwe to meet with the operations there that we are supporting, and we are very excited about beginning to provide assistance in this country.

We look forward to your continued support in 2009.

The Situation on the Ground

Roses and Rosemary focuses on HIV Orphans in Africa. Children orphaned by HIV/AIDS are found in almost every country of the world. In some countries, there are only a few hundred or a few thousand. In Africa, there are millions, and Southern Africa has the most by far. Your pledge will go to Southern Africa and those who need assistance . more

New Years Eve Party A Huge Success!

Roses and Rosemary's New Years Eve bash was a great success! We raised over $8,200 to support HIV Orphans in Africa, and we all enjoyed a great fireworks show over Lake Union. DJ Rich Val brought the music, and the open bar with Champagne by Chateau St. Michelle started off a great 2009 for Roses & Rosemary!
